Sonore Vignette is a music creation workshop designed for young, classically trained musicians interested in exercising their creativity.
We will be scoring the animated short film ‘Par 2’ created by Ottawa filmmakers Anthony Scavarelli, James Ferris, Tetsuro Takara, Grant Lucas and Kyle Stacey.
The workshop will be open to 8 participants, age 13-18.
The workshop will cover:
- overview of harmony and theory
- identifying the needs of the picture
- score preparation
- performing and recording each other’s music cues
- using MIDI in Pro Tools
- creating a mix in Pro Tools
- an overview of foley and sound design
- the completion of the recorded soundtrack to present at the end of the workshop.
Students are welcome to bring laptops with music creation capability. Special guests TBA.
The course runs Monday July 21 to Friday July 25, 9AM to 3PM. Cost of the course is $275. You can download the registration form HERE.
